I was a resident first and then I became a staff member when I learned help was needed... It’s very challenging but also rewarding. I watch women grow and gain a deeper relationship with Christ. At times it can be sad as I watch ladies press in or go through their emotions; they may rebel and leave. Working here has taught me how to be gentle, patient and have compassion.

I worked in the Department of Corrections (DOC) for 12 years. I never felt that the DOC was where I was meant to stay, but I had no idea what calling the Lord had on my life. I just knew I wanted to help people... I was sent to Grace & Mercy to love the ladies there and that is what I do. I love them through whatever comes, on whatever day.

I work on Sundays where I get to interact with the resident’s families. To see the light in the women’s eyes when their children come to visit is the highlight of my day.
